Human CD133+ Hematopoietic Progenitors

Cord Blood

Present within a heterogeneous cell population, hematopoietic stem cells, or HSCs, represent a very small proportion of mononuclear cells. HSCs are morphologically non-identifiable, however the purification of hematopoietic progenitors is possible using different membrane markers.

Cluster of Differentiation 133 (CD133) is an antigen expressed on the surface of human hematopoietic progenitor cells. In culture, CD133+ cells from cord blood are able to generate all cells of all hematopoietic lineages. All mature hematopoietic cells such as myeloid cells, megakaryocytes, erythrocytes or lymphocytes cease to express CD133.

Abcell-bio offers CD133+ cells isolated by immuno-magnetic selection from human umbilical cord blood.

These cells have the capacity to self-renew or to differentiate into mature hematopoietic cells of different lineages. Our CD133+ hematopoietic progenitors are derived from a single and healthy donor. Multiple quality controls are performed to certify performance, purity, viability and virologic compliance.

Quality control

The CD133+ cell purity is ≥ 95%. After isolation, the cells are frozen in FBS-10% DMSO. Virologic (HIV1/2, HBV, HCV) and mycoplasma detection tests are performed on all batches. A full certificate of analysis is provided for each batch of CD133+ cells ordered.
